Top 10 Home Football Shirts of the World Cup 2010

I selected the top 10 Home Football Shirts of the World Cup 2010. Here they are.

1. Germany (My vote: 10*)

Like every Germany kits this is a beauty..!

The Germany Home Shirt is a stylish design from Adidas for the 2010/11 international seasons. It is white in colour with black trims and is a short sleeved design with arounded neckline. There are embroidered and printed Adidas logos including the authenticity hologram at the bottom of the shirt. Other features include a stitched German national crest complete with their World Cup winning years and a stripe made up of the national colours.

I am voting 10 for the Germany home shirt with the star. This could be the best football shirt of the year.

2. England (My vote: 9.5)

This is my second beauty...

The England Home Shirt is a retro design from Umbro and is made to celebrate the invention of tailored sportswear by Harold Humphreys (Humphrey Brothers) in 1924. Today, Umbro once again brings together the traditional values of classic tailoring with modern fabric technology and a revolutionary design philosophy: Style meets performance. This England kit is the proud result. Honoring the past, looking forward to the future. A new England strip combining Umbro's long tradition of sports tailoring with all benefits modern technology can offer. These garments will change the way football kits are developed in the future!

The shirt is made from 80% polyester, 20% cotton and uses Umbro's innovative Climate Control fabric. There is a button-up collar with an embroidered Umbro logo on the chest alongside a new English national crest which has a single World Cup winners stars above.

My vote is 9.5, but because of Germany shirt. Otherwise I would have given 10.

3. Argentina (My vote: 9)

Argentina has always been my favourite team.

The shirt is in the traditional light blue and white, with a white round neck collar and white Adidas stripes on both sleeves. There is a stitched Argentina crest and embroidered Adidas logo. The shirt inspired from Argentina's Le Coq Sportif shirt in 1986. Their stripes are very similar on this shirt.

My vote is 9.5 because it could have designed better, even better than Germany home shirt.

4. Spain (My vote: 9)

What a beautiful colours...!

The Spain Home Shirt is a simple design from Adidas for the 2010/11 international seasons. It is a short sleeved design with a rounded neckline and is made out in the team's world famous red colour with blue and yellow trims. The shirt is made from 100% polyester using Adidas' unique Climacool technology and has an embroidered Adidas logo on the chest along with an authentic Adidas logo at the bottom.

Right template, beautiful colours and simple design. My vote is 9.

5. Japan (My vote: 9)
Nippns are wearing special Adidas design as usual.

The Japan Home Shirt is a great design from Adidas for the 2010/11 international seasons. The shirt is made from 100% polyester using Adidas' unique Climacool technology and has an embroidered Adidas logo on the chest along with an authentic Adidas logo at the bottom. Stitched Japan national crest, e
mbroidered Japanese flag and traditional Japanese patterns on the shirt.

Traditional Japanese patters are lovely but they don't have any connection with football. However, my vote is 9. Template, cuffs, neck and design elements are really great. Well done Adidas.

6. France (My vote: 8.5)
Remember France 1984 and 1998. Here is above shirt bringing you to the past.

The France Home Shirt is a modern design from Adidas for the 2010/11 international seasons. It is blue in colour with red and white trims and is a short sleeved design with a v-shaped neckline. There are embroidered and printed Adidas logos including the authenticity hologram at the bottom of the shirt. Other features include a stitched French national crest and a striped design made up of the red and white sections.

I think Argentina, Spain and Japan shirts are better. Therefore my vote is 8.5 for France.

Please note: France Football Federation has always had great Adidas shirts since 1972. However, FFF agreed with the Nike from 2011 till 2018.

7. Denmark (My vote: 8.5)
Unique dotted lines on the shirt...!

The Denmark Home Shirt is a unique design from Adidas for the 2010/11 international seasons. There are embroidered and printed Adidas logos including the authenticity hologram at the bottom of the shirt.

The 11 dotted lines across the chest, are a tribute to the collective of the national team and 11 players who are on the pitch for the Danish Dynamite.

My vote is 8.5 just because of the dotted lines. Don't misunderstand, they are absolutely perfect. However, I could have used different Adidas template (same as Japan shirt's template) for these dotted lines.

8. Ivory Coast (My vote: 8)
Welcome to the Art Gallery from Puma..!

The Ivory Coast Shirt is an elegant design from Puma for the 2010/11 international seasons. The shirt is a bold design in the Ivory Coast's famous orange colour with green trims and is made from 100% polyester using Puma's unique USP fabric technology. There are embroidered Puma logos on the chest and sleeves along with a newly designed Ivory Coast national crest. There is also an elephant logo on the right shoulder to celebrate the national logo of the Ivory Coast.

My vote is 8. Design elements and template are perfect but still not as good as Adidas.

9. Australia
(My vote: 8)

Very Australian - simple is the best.

The Australia Home Shirt is a simple design from Nike
for the 2010/11 international seasons. I
t is made out in their world famous yellow colour with green and white sections and can be combined with the shorts and socks to create a full Australia home kit. The shirt is made from 100% polyester using Nike's Dri-Fit fabric technology and is a short sleeved design with a v-shaped neckline. There are embroidered Nike and Dri-Fit logos, a stitched Australian national crest and a printed Australia logo on the back of the neck.

This is my favourite Nike shirt. It is very classy. Well done Nike.

10. USA (My vote: 8)
Back to 1950..!

The USA Home Shirt is very smart design from Nike
for the 2010/11 international seasons.
It is made out in their world famous white colour with a subtle grey diagonal stripe and can be combined with the shorts and socks to create a full USA home kit. The shirt is made from 100% polyester using Nike's Dri-Fit fabric technology and is a short sleeved design with a rounded neckline.
There are embroidered Nike and Dri-Fit logos, a stitched USA national crest and a printed USA logo on the back of the neck.

In 1950, the U.S. National Team caused one of soccer’s biggest upsets beating a heavily favored English team 1-0. The shirt remains similar shirt of US teams in 1950.

My vote is 8, same as every Nike shirts this one is also very wearable.

Football badges designed by Illustrators

World Cup 2010 has gone but we are still talking about World Cup kits. However, Umbro and Nike have commissioned illustrators to devise emblems and badges to be embroidered on to alternative versions of national team shirts. Based on England Home shirt 2010 World Cup, this latest collection honours the football cultures of the seven champion nations – Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Italy and Uruguay.

ZZK's badge for Argentina

ZZK Records is record label based in Buenos Aires. ZZK’s crest design depicts the sun, Argentina’s national emblem, shouting “goal”, two indigenous birds holding up one finger for each of the country’s wins and kids playing football in the street, a pastime seen throughout the country.

Fernando Chamarelli's badge for Brazil

Fernando Chamarelli, an illustrator, visual artist and tattoo designer from Sao Paolo. Chamarelli’s unique art, which connects symbols and legends of Brazilian culture, is apparent in his crest design.
Chamarelli said “I was inspired by several elements of Brazilian culture - Capoeira, berimbau, music, birds, samba, carnival masks, the beauty of a tropical country, waves, and football of course

Eine's badge for England

Ben Eine, one of England’s most prominent street artists and graffiti pioneers.
Ben said “I wanted to do something very traditional, something regal from the days of shining knights and Tudor roses. I wanted to show England as a strong, solid and brave team”.

Andre's badge for France

Andre is French graffiti artist. The French shirt, a modern interpretation of the one worn in the early 80’s, is a classic Gallic blue and Andre has designed a crest that is a clean, fresh take on the most famous of French landmarks, the Eiffel Tower.

Thomas Marecki (Marok)'s badge for Germany

Thomas Marecki (Marok) is a designer, artist and publisher from Berlin. Marok said “The crest is a delicate part of the uniform, and the uniform enhances team spirit. I was looking for something that could reflect my country in a positive way. The dredger is a symbol for the imminent will to construct and destruct. The stars refer to the German championships, and the sausage needs no further explanation,” said Marok.

Tanino Liberatore's badge for Italy

Tanino Liberatore is Italian comics author, illustrator and artist. Tanino said “My crest design celebrates Italy’s long history of gladiatorial athletes and their spiritual home. It is an analogy of our team going in to battle to defend the World Cup they won in 2006.”

Martin Albronoz's badge for Uruguay

Martin Albronoz is a mixed media artist from Montevideo. Working across photography, painting and graphics Martin created a crest commemorating Uruguay’s legendary 1950 World Cup victory over Brazil; such a culturally remarkable moment, Uruguay refers to it as ‘El Maracanazo’, which refers to the way the team fought against the odds to victory. Four stars feature on the crest, two from their wins in 1930 and 1950, plus the two representing the team’s gold medals from the Olympics in 1924 and 1928, before the formation of the modern tournament as we know it.
